Dispersion is easily achieved by direct incorporation of the granule into the resin system, using low energy stirring with a slow speed blade capable of moving the whole mass. This premix is then slowly added to the agitated bulk of the binder. If it is necessary to use high shear to dissolve or disperse any component of the binder, this should be done before introducing the premix. The final pH should be as close to neutral as possible. High shear should be avoided as it bends and breaks the flakes, reducing both brightness and gassing resistance. As the water stability of this grade may be system dependent, trials are recommended to verify the required level of performance.
