FC-628 is a non-leafing, medium particle size aluminum pigment paste grade. This grade is specially formulated to orientate better in fluorocarbon resin systems. It provides unique sparkling, deep flop with good acid and alkaline resistance.

FC-628 is very suitable for high quality industrial fluorocarbon coatings.

The paste should be pre-soaked in a paste:solvent ratio of between 1:1 to 3:1. Pre-soaking generally takes from one to eight hours. In general finer grades require longer pre-soaking duration compared to coarser grades. If using solvent alone is not feasible, the liquid coating medium can be substituted, but the dispersion time may be extended. Use low shear, slow speed mixing to achieve a smooth consistency mixture until it is free from aggregates. High shear dispersion techniques should not be used as they will destroy or distort the aluminum pigment flakes affecting the overall intended aesthetic effect.

Aluminum pigment should be stored in the original shipping container and kept tightly sealed. Store containers in a cool, dry, well-ventilated, and properly rated area. Avoid any conditions that will suspend or float the particles in the air, creating a dust cloud. Avoid all possible sources of ignition.
