SPARKLE SILVET 790-20-P is a coarse polished aluminum pigment with polished cornflake geometry provided in pellet form and consists of 80% aluminum pigment and 20% PMMA carrier. The PMMA carrier is compatible with a variety of engineering resins, but it is not recommended for use with polyolefins. SPARKLE SILVET 790-20-P is suitable for use in both plastics and powder coatings applications.

SPARKLE SILVET is recommended for use with engineering resins or transparent polymers where compatibility, maintenance of polymer clarity and distinctness of image [D.O.I.] observed from the finished part are important. SPARKLE SILVET 790-20-P is compatible with polycarbonate, ABS, ASA, acrylics and other high-end resins. SPARKLE SILVET P grades are not recommended for use with polyolefins, which are more effectively pigmented with Silberline’s SILVET® E, SILVET E1 and SILVEX® products.

It is normally sufficient to tumble blend the pellets with the base resin and any additional colorants or additives before processing. Incorporation techniques should not subject the flakes to high shear forces.

Aluminum pigment should be stored in the original shipping container and kept tightly sealed. Store containers in a cool, dry, well-ventilated, and properly rated area. Avoid any conditions that will suspend or float the particles in the air, creating a dust cloud. Avoid all possible sources of ignition.
