SPARKLE SILVET® 760-30-FDA Aluminum Pigment

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

SPARKLE SILVET 760-30-FDA is a coarse particle size, SPARKLE SILVER® aluminum pigment produced in pellet form to reduce the potential for generating airborne particles and to improve ease of handling. The pellets or granular form are produced by a low shear process for easy dispersion. The pigment flake has a cornflake geometry. The particle size distribution range is controlled to produce clean chromatic effects when used with transparent pigments and dyes. This grade will produce strong metallic effects with coarse grain aesthetics when used alone or with other pigments. SPARKLE SILVET 760-30-FDA is suitable for use in both plastics and powder coating applications.

-Coarse, SPARKLE SILVER® flake grade

-Aluminum pigment granules

-Non-leafing

-Cornflake

PRODUCT APPLICATION

SPARKLE SILVET FDA grades are easy to disperse and are compatible with a variety of polymers, particularly polyolefins. It is typically used to make concentrates or compounds for use in final processing by injection molding, extrusion, blow molding or blown film processes. In some cases, SPARKLE SILVET FDA can be used directly in end-use processing but care must be taken to ensure complete dispersion is achieved. Their pellet or granular form make them easy to handle and incorporate. SPARKLE SILVET FDA grades are provided in a carrier system suitable for use in applications that require FDA compliance. Specific FDA compliance information is available upon request.

INCORPORATION GUIDELINES

It is normally sufficient to tumble blend the pellets with the base resin and any additional colorants or additives before processing. Incorporation techniques should not subject the flakes to high shear forces.

SAFETY AND HANDLING

Aluminum pigment should be stored in the original shipping container and kept tightly sealed. Store containers in a cool, dry, well-ventilated, and properly rated area. Avoid any conditions that will suspend or float the particles in the air, creating a dust cloud. Avoid all possible sources of ignition. For additional information, please refer to the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for this product, available from Silberline upon request. An SDS is supplied with all samples of this grade.
