SILBERCOTE UV 516-K2X is a medium-fine particle size aluminum pigment that has been chemically treated for stability in UV ink systems. It is a high purity aluminum pigment with lenticular geometry. The pigment is provided in a non-reactive C13 to C15 fatty alcohol carrier. This pigment will provide a bright, metallic silver effect with good hiding power.

SILBERCOTE UV 516-K2X is designed for use in one-pack or two-pack UV curable inks. Proper pigment flake alignment in the cured ink film will maximize brightness. Prior to use, this pigment should be tested in the desired UV curable ink system to ensure compatibility and performance.

Where possible, the product should be dispersed in the lowest viscosity components of the formulation by low shear mixing, thereafter adding the remaining components. High shear mixing should be avoided as it damages the protective coating on the flakes, reducing the stability of the systems. It may also break the flakes, resulting in loss of metallic brightness.

Aluminum pigment should be stored in the original shipping container and kept tightly sealed. Store containers in a cool, dry, well-ventilated, and properly rated area. Avoid any conditions that will suspend or float the particles in the air, creating a dust cloud. Avoid all possible sources of ignition.
