SBC UV E2169 K3X provides a non-leafing, fine particle size grade of aluminium flake pigment for use in one pack UV cured coatings. The aluminium flake is stabilised to increase the shelf life of the product in such systems. A high concentration of metal flake in a non-reactive, C13- 15 fatty alcohol carrier ensures both maximum formulating flexibility and good system compatibility. SBC UV E2169 K3X provides a bright, metallic silver effect, with good hiding power (opacity), particularly in printing inks and paints. It may also be suitable for other radiation cured systems, but small-scale tests are recommended.

Where possible, the product should be dispersed in the lowest viscosity components of the formulation by low shear mixing, thereafter adding the remaining components. High shear mixing should be avoided as it damages the protective coating on the flakes, reducing the stability of the system. It may also break the flakes, resulting in loss of metallic brightness.

Aluminum pigment should be stored in the original shipping container and kept tightly sealed. Store containers in a cool, dry, well-ventilated, and properly rated area. Avoid any conditions that will suspend or float the particles in the air, creating a dust cloud. Avoid all possible sources of ignition.
