INCORPORATION GUIDELINES

This grade is compatible with a wide range of thermoplastics, including styrenics, polyolefins, polyamides, polycarbonates, polyesters and acetals. It may also be suitable for other polymers and for powder coatings prepared by extrusion and micronizing, but compatibility tests are recommended. Due to its fine particle size, SILVET 210-30-E1 has very high opacity. Loadings of 0.3-1.2% in the final pigmented article are typical. It is normally sufficient to tumble blend the granules with polymers and any other colorants and additives before processing. As with all aluminum flake pigments, the use of high shear forces should be minimized as they cause loss of brightness and metallic effect.

SAFETY AND HANDLING

Aluminum pigment should be stored in the original shipping container and kept tightly sealed. Store containers in a cool, dry, well-ventilated, and properly rated area. Avoid any conditions that will suspend or float the particles in the air, creating a dust cloud. Avoid all possible sources of ignition. For additional information, please refer to the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for this product, available from Silberline upon request. An SDS is supplied with all samples of this grade.
