ET2461 provides a coarse particle size aluminium flake pigment in an easily handled, low dusting, meterable delivery form. The high metal content has been chosen to maximise formulation flexibility whilst ensuring good dispersibility in a wide range of thermoplastics. Suitable polymers include styrenics, polyolefins, polyamides, polyesters, polycarbonate and acetals. Use with certain grades of EVA and PVC may also be possible, but compatibility tests are recommended.

ET2461 provides less opacity and a brighter, more sparkling appearance than the related ST790-30-E1. It is recommended for use at 1.5-2.0% w/w on polymer to provide a subtle sparkle effect in coloured metallic formulations. When used alone for silver metallic effects, a loading of up to 3.5% is required for colour saturation and opacity. ET2461 is suitable for moulding articles coming into indirect contact with food. Like all flake pigments, optimum colour and brightness will be obtained by incorporating this grade under conditions of good mixing, but low shear. The granular delivery form allows tumble blending or easy metering into polymer, prior to processing.

Aluminum pigment should be stored in the original shipping container and kept tightly sealed. Store containers in a cool, dry, well-ventilated, and properly rated area. Avoid any conditions that will suspend or float the particles in the air, creating a dust cloud. Avoid all possible sources of ignition.
